偶而在网上看了Eric Clapton（艾瑞克，克莱普顿）唱这首老歌的视频，一下就被吸引住了，一遍遍地听，竟好象有些如痴如醉。后知道此歌背景，心里更别是一番滋味： Eric Clapton中年得子，起名Conor，可4岁大的爱子竟不幸从纽约数十层高的公寓意外摔下身亡，大恸之余，艾瑞克为悼念亡兒遂写下了这首歌。

在那段点击数逾千万的视频上，Eric Clapton略显不修边幅，神情落寞萎顿，好象尚未从悲痛走出。那歌声犹若冬夜篝火上空久未飘散的烟，浓呛而模糊；而吉他一声声有力的拨奏，宏亮而空旷。在梦境中的天堂，他仿佛泪水纵横，捧着Conor稚嫩的小脸，喃喃自语，忽又醒来，勉力自振。当想到时光磨洗，业是人到中年，他不由沉痛地唱出：
